I'm nearly giggling right now. It's kind of odd for me, of all people, to be giggling. I have a very good reason for it, though.
I was checking out my very first riding instructor's website earlier, and saw that she was selling her farm in Vermont. It also said that there were horses for sale.
So, I call, and I talk to her for a little while about how things have been going and such. Then, out of the blue, she throws in eight little words that start to make me giddy.
"You're not looking for a horse, are you?"
Well, I tell her about Lacy.... And then she says, "If you were looking for a second horse, I'd be willing to give Dee to you. For free. And I'd bring her down personally."
...I... Was shocked. I'm pretty sure my heart skipped a couple beats right there. Now, Dee is a Morgan/Paint that I rode when I was with this particular instructor. She's about 15.2, stubborn, and just a blast to ride. She used to belong to an older cowboy who used her as a Western Pleasure and Trail mount, but when my instructor bought her, we started her in Dressage.
So anyway, I nearly start squealing like a little girl, and tell her that I'll talk to Mom about it (seeing as we're pretty much co-owners with Lacy). I talked to Mom, and... Well... I think I have myself another horse! SO EXCITED. And she's FREE, thanks to me having connections with this instructor. I'll be posting a picture of Dee in a few minutes

I'm just... Absolutely giddy and... Yeah, I can't even explain it! This is one of my all time favorite animals, I haven't seen her in about five years... She's right around seventeen, now, but she has a lot of life left in her. I can't WAIT to see her!
